A change is brewing

April 14th

Two weeks ago, my school passed out the letter of intent for the  next teaching year. I thought about it and checked the transfer box. The commute is killing me (along with the awful students! LOL!) I turned in the form on Wednesday morning. The principal called me in that afternoon. She told me that she wanted me to stay, and I assured her that I would only transfer if I found a kindergarten position closer to my home.

On my way home that day, I was praying about the next school year. I became at peace with staying at the school I teach at if that is God’s plan for me.  Otherwise, I would love to move to a different school, district even. The next day, the principal asked me to stay after our weekly kindergarten meeting. She said, “I’m losing you.” I repeated that if another position didn’t come open, then I would be there next year.

She said, “No, I’m losing you.” She lost the allocation for my position. I’m sure it had nothing to do with my plans to transfer-NOT. OK, maybe not. I was the last one hired. Either way, I will not be teaching at the same school next year. I am guaranteed a position in Dallas ISD, and they are supposed to have an internal job fair. We’ll see.

I really would like to move to McKinney ISD. I really have loved it the most out of every district I have taught in. There is a possibility of an opening at Jenn’s school. So, be praying for me! Either way, God has paved the way, and His plan is always best!
