And only three more days of school left. Boot camp is almost over! The even better news is that I have two interviews next week to teach kindergarten in both Plano and McKinney. I’m very excited to see what the future holds!

We had a fun cook out with Robert and Becky. Oliver is getting so big.

The ceiling above the slimy, sticky balls isle at US Toy is really disgusting.
5-27-09

We had an awards assembly today, and the kindergartners received their diplomas. This guy is truly a pain in my butt, but who can not crack a smile when you look at those shoes and grin.

Zoe and Ellie got in another fight yesterday while we were at work. We think they fought under the bed. Ryan boarded up the underside of the bed, and Zoe will be crated up when we are not at home with the puppies.
5-29-09

Fun Day at school. Ryan even came up to meet the kids. I really have a good group, and at least they look like they love each other in this photo. Normally they are too busy hitting each other and calling each other names to sit still.

Oliver had his first birthday today. He ate a lot of cake, and he was so cute the whole time. In this picture he kept teasing Becky like he was going to touch her with his messy hands.

I have an obsession with converse sneakers. These just screamed kindergarten teacher to me. It also helped that they were on sale for $28.

Half shaved Ellie. I shaved all the dogs this day. She has only been shaved once, several years ago. She just came up to me and I started shaving. She really likes it and looks pretty good. Her fur was so thick.

The kids were about to take the ITBS. Kindergarten is just too young for standardized testing in my opinion. We has four days of testing, and they were really good the whole time. I’m not sure how they scored, but I know that they did their best.
5-20-09

Hey baby que paso? Pappasitos has half price fajitas on most Wednesdays. It has become a regular place for us. Man are their fajitas good, and seeing these cute faces isn’t too bad either.
5-21-09

Isabelle is so funny. She sleeps on the back pillows of the couch right next to my head. I keep telling Ryan that I need to get a baby sling and just carry her around in it all the time. What can I say, I’m her person.
5-22-09

Sweet Georgia Brown for dinner again. I had to get some for Ryan to taste. He liked it so much that we ended up going again this Sunday with Jenn and Jonathan so they could try it too.
5-23-09

My cousin David got married today. It was a unique ceremony. I did a gasp when this photo showed up in my email. How beautiful and breath taking.

Here’s another picture from the wedding of their cake. I’ve got an opinion, but what do you think?

I found this awesome sewing bag at JoAnn’s. I had been looking for one for a long time. Often they are just made in old granny fabric. This one is totally cute and matches the office.
5-12-09

We’ll call this the after shot of my classroom. I had to start taking things down for the ITBS testing that will happen next week. It’s a huge difference from what it looked like in February.
5-13-09

Ryan had his eyes dilated today. His pupils were huge. We took his mom out for a yummy dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. We also got our camera in the mail from Walmart today. Hopefully the third time is the charm.
5-14-09

We got together with the BFFs for dinner and Grey’s Anatomy watching party. The girls are getting too big.
5-15-09

I ate dinner with my team at Sweet Georgia Brown. My life will never been the same! Their food is amazing. It’s the best catfish, mac-n-cheese, broccoli cheese casserole, and sweet potatoes I have ever had. Sorry for the crappy picture. I took it while driving as I left.
5-16-09

She likes the fire hose, but the hedgehog is her true love and favorite.
5-17-09

Ryan and I had lunch at Gloria’s after church. The bean dip was wonderful, buy my chorizo was REALLY greasy. I didn’t really eat it. The tamale was the best though.

I feel like I can blog some now that my Project 365 is up to date. Things are hectic with the end of the school year. In Dallas, the kindergartners take a test that is the equivalent of the TAKS test. We are taking it everyday next week, so we have been practicing.
I kind of feel like I’m past the point of teaching them anything new. Right now it is just review, testing, then the last week of school. I wonder if it always winds down like this three weeks before the end. I’m not expecting to hear anything about where I will be teaching next year until this summer. Dallas is having a job fair for teachers that are forced to transfer on June 13th. I hope to have a position in McKinney or Plano by then though. We’ll see. Where ever God has planned for me to go.
I miss blogging and I hope to pick it up more this summer. I’m going to be working for Bossman with Drama Queen. I’m sure I’ll have stories to tell. I also want to discuss my experience of teaching in South Dallas. It has been brutal. They say if you don’t laugh, then you’ll cry. That is so true, and I’ll tell you about it after I have had some time to decompress and digest.
In the meantime, I have started twittering/tweeting. Once Ryan opened an account, I knew that I had to have one to. You can see my most up to date status on the right. Till we meet again….or something.

Helen returned some DVDs we had loaned her, and she brought me this Charlie Brown movie. I have never seen it before! Charlie is my favorite. We also sat down and watched House together. Ryan and I are obsessed. House gets high priority in the Tivo list.

Cinco de Mayo, and what happens to your grass when it rains nonstop and you are unable to mow. I’m sorry to say that it has still not be mowed. The rain struck again before we could get it done. It’s so tall now that you can’t see Isabelle when she runs through it (kind of like the smoke monster in Lost).
5-6-09

Testing out a shrink art project for my class for Mother’s Day. This stuff is so neat! Oh and that’s red paint on my hand, not blood.
5-7-09

This just makes me think of the song, “The world is a rainbow, with many lots of colors” blah blah blah “So you be you and I’ll be me” blah blah-by Raffi I think
5-8-09

Teacher appreciation was this week. My school got me these neat-o things. I guess because they knew none of the parents would. LOL (they were right)
5-9-09

She is dedicated to earn her title as a lap dog. She stayed there for a while before she finally slipped off.
5-10-09

Siblings. We enjoyed dinner together at Outback to celebrate Granny. We even say Brendon there. Good times, good times.

Zoe was so funny this day. Every time Ryan would take her picture she would blink leaving her with this drunk look.

TAKS time at school.
4-29-09

Today marks the beginning of non stop rain. The clouds were so dark on the way home.
4-30-09

We met Nikhil for dinner to say goodbye. He left the next morning for India. We will miss our new friend!
5-1-09

We finally go Jenn to go to Japan House. She even tried some sushi. We told Faith that we would let her eat all the dessert she wanted if she would try the tuna. In the end she didn’t try it, but she considered it for a long time.
5-2-09

Our roof leaks in the atrium area when it really is pouring rain outside. Ryan had the great idea to just go ahead and install a hook in the ceiling to hold the bucket. We’re classy over here!

This their favorite toy right now. It is made from a fire hose. Isabelle loves playing fetch with it, and it has lasted a long time.
4-21-09

Field Trip! The kids were actually really good, but I was still exhausted by the end of the day.
