Dog for sale

April 27th

A few weeks ago Ryan took my camera to his work to photo his awesome new desk. Then he dropped my camera and it landed on the lens. The camera died that day. Last Thursday, Ryan went up to Wal-mart and found me a really cool new Samsung camera.

Last night Ryan jumped out of the bed and turned the light on. You are not going to believe what he found. Isabelle had gotten my new camera out of my purse (from the living room), had dragged it into the bedroom, pulled it out of the sock I had it in to protect from scratches, and was CHEWING on it! She broke the flash and the LCD screen. I’m not sure what we are going to do about the camera, but does anyone want to buy a dog. Anyone….anyone???

They are our future…..

April 22nd

Last Friday my school had a Spring Fling right after school. I thought I would hang out a snap some pics. I was sure that it would be different from the dances at my school with it being in an urban area. The kids danced, ate junk food, and ran around like crazy. Here are some of my cute girls.

Don’t be fooled by their cute looks. These pictures were followed by this:

And this:

Then the assistant principal (serving as DJ) turned this on:

I started laughing hysterically. These kiddos don’t even know who Ricky Bobby is. They looked like choo-choo trains moving their arms. The worst part is that now I can’t get the song out of my head and then it leads to movie quotes to go flying through my brain. Dear Lord Baby Jesus…………..Shake and Bake……….etc.

Just as I thought things couldn’t get any funnier, a new song came on. I was almost ran over by the stampede of kids running onto the dance floor. Do you remember that feeling at a dance when they finally played your favorite song? Then I started listening to the words. This is the hottest thing right now:

Not only did they look ridiculous, but they are going to think that leg is spelled with two g’s. The assistant principal showed us all how to do the dance. It was so popular that he played the song TWICE! These kiddos are the future, and I’m scared! LOL

All Smiles

April 21st

Ryan and I hosted Easter lunch at our house. We had over 20 guests! As I started looking through the pictures I noticed all of the smiles, laughter, and love that filled our house for those hours. I am so truly blessed to have these people in my life. Easter should come more often! What an opportunity we had to thank God for all of the miracles that have surrounded our lives.

I also made sure that we got family pictures taken. I always sit down to scrapbook, and I wish that I had pictures of everyone looking at the camera and smiling instead of just action shots.

Ryan and I went to the grocery store tonight to get food for Easter.  We saw a guy putting these in the openings on the coke machines. We thought they were so funny that Ryan took them all. We got a good chuckle over them at Easter.

Easter apothecary jars! I got these for only $18 a few weeks ago. They were left over from Christmas at Sams. I had fun making glitter eggs! Martha has the best ideas.

There isn’t a water fountain in my classroom. The kids would drive me crazy to go to the cafeteria to get a drink. Most of them did not even want a drink, but they really wanted to avoid from doing their work. My aunt Debbie heard me talking about this, so she gave me the money to get them their own water bottles. What a sweetie!

Ryan and I planted these around the big tree in our front yard. I liked them so much that I bought some yellow and orange plants for the front flower bed.

A change is brewing

April 14th

Two weeks ago, my school passed out the letter of intent for the  next teaching year. I thought about it and checked the transfer box. The commute is killing me (along with the awful students! LOL!) I turned in the form on Wednesday morning. The principal called me in that afternoon. She told me that she wanted me to stay, and I assured her that I would only transfer if I found a kindergarten position closer to my home.

On my way home that day, I was praying about the next school year. I became at peace with staying at the school I teach at if that is God’s plan for me.  Otherwise, I would love to move to a different school, district even. The next day, the principal asked me to stay after our weekly kindergarten meeting. She said, “I’m losing you.” I repeated that if another position didn’t come open, then I would be there next year.

She said, “No, I’m losing you.” She lost the allocation for my position. I’m sure it had nothing to do with my plans to transfer-NOT. OK, maybe not. I was the last one hired. Either way, I will not be teaching at the same school next year. I am guaranteed a position in Dallas ISD, and they are supposed to have an internal job fair. We’ll see.

I really would like to move to McKinney ISD. I really have loved it the most out of every district I have taught in. There is a possibility of an opening at Jenn’s school. So, be praying for me! Either way, God has paved the way, and His plan is always best!

Week Twelve is up

April 9th

Did that seem like a long few days to you? I went ahead and took yesterday off so I can get the house ready for Easter this weekend. Hopefully I will get to update you on what has been going on lately, but I make no promises. LOL
