Last Friday, this little guy turned six months old. He got to celebrate his big day with a trip to the doctor and two shots. He is developing perfectly except for his teeth. Most kiddos get their two front bottom teeth (check) and then their two front top teeth. Someone forgot to give the message to Jordan’s mouth because he is going to cut the top teeth on either side of the front ones first. We are going to have our own little jack-o-lantern around the house!
This month Jordan learned lots of new tricks and developed new interests. He is taking up the piano, a gift from Santa.

He has a passion for laptop work. He’s especially fond of ripping off the keys.
Blowing raspberries with gusto is now part of his daily routine.
Charlie is still his favorite dog, with Ellie coming in second.
Everyday his noises become more and more like the beginning stages of talking. He’s even mastered his pissed off voice. The best part is that he has started giving you kisses back on your cheek. They are sloppy, wet goodness.
The powers that be at Creating Keepsakes have still not released whether or not they will be making more kits. I have found this really cool alternative that I almost like better than the original kit. The only catch is that it is digital scrapbooking, and I have not even considered dabbling in this before now. The jury is still out on that one.
Good news for all you readers though! Check up top at the tabs. There’s a new Project 365 tab. Each week, I’ll post up the pictures for my project. It will let you guys in on what’s up and serve as a way for me to organize my photos and journaling while I decide how to publish this beast of a project.
I am notoriously bad about getting my inspection taken care of. This time I was only three months late!

He was so funny this night. He kept blowing long, drawn-out raspberries at me and Charlie. So funny.

Lunch with Nikhil at Japan House. This sweet guy is from India. Ryan worked with him when he was there for eight weeks. He took Ryan to the hospital when Ryan thought he was dying! We look forward to spending more time with him while he’s still here working over the next few months.

I have a problem! Who can resist fabric 50% off at JoAnn’s? Be watching the store page for new pillowcases and other stuff over the next month. I’ve got sewing fever!
Yesterday, we had temperatures in the thirties, and icicles were frozen on my car when I left work for the day. I know you’re thinking, “It’s winter….big deal!” And normally it wouldn’t be if it hadn’t been for that wonderful Saturday only three days ago.
The high was around 77, and we spent the afternoon outside! It was great weather for taking down the Christmas lights and beginning to tame our out of control leaves in the back yard. Does anyone know if it’s illegal to blow all of your leaves into a busy road with the hopes they will head over to the mall next to your house? We still have a few large piles that need to be dealt with!
Ryan worked on those items while I…….scooped poop. Don’t get too jealous of me, but it’s a necessity of life when you have four dogs (I think some have started going in the house as a rebellion for us not scooping up what is already out there). As I worked away one pile at a time, I realized how much I love being outdoors, even if I’m scooping poop. I honestly don’t mind it. I like feeling the wind on my face and the sun on my back.
I even bought some plants at Home Depot and potted them on Saturday on the patio. My body, mind, and soul were all ready for spring. Now, I’m sitting in my office freezing my butt off! No fair. Overall, this winter has been very mild. I hope it’s not foreshadowing of a summer full of hell temperatures.
As for me not liking the weather, it is Texas. If your not happy with the weather, wait a few days. It will change! I just checked the forecast for the rest of the week, and we’re back in the 70′s again. Can you guess what I’ll be doing?
I stumbled across this book one day while reading dooce. It was such a great idea. Two friends, who lived miles apart, decided to take a photo every morning and post it on a blog. They didn’t discuss the pictures before hand. It was amazing to see how some of their photos matched or made sense together. For example, one morning one girl took a picture of her cat, and the other girl took a picture of an unraveled ball of yarn. They have now complied a book with all their photos. I love looking through it.
Jaque also pointed out this project that I had missed in my Creating Keepsakes magazine.
The kit is amazing and, basically what you do is capture your life one photo a day. Combining the idea from the gals above and my love for scrapbooking was a natural fit for me. I’ve decided to do it, and I started today. My first photo……my food tracking screen for Weight Watchers. Yep, I’m back on the weight loss wagon! One of the many resolutions I’ll talk about later.
The only kink in my plan in that the kit sold out within hours of it going on sale. The scrapbooking community is pissed, and I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t disappointed about it too. They really underestimated how popular this idea would be. Based on Becky Higgins‘ suggestion, I’m moving forward and keeping a journal instead of completely abandoning the idea. Hopefully they will get more kits in soon! Jaque’s going to do it too to chronicle that bouncing baby boy that turns 6 months old (gasp as my heart breaks a little) this Friday.
Interested in the kit/ideas? Click here to see what the kit includes and here to see how to use the kit. It’s hard to believe it only costs $34.95. No wonder it sold out. Most of my scrapbook albums alone can cost that much, not to mention all the paper, stickers, and embellishments.
Note to self: Add stop buying scrapbooking stuff to list of resolutions! Minus the Project 365 kit, of course. LOL!
Welcome 2009! January 1st always brings forth a sense of hope and renewal for me. It feels like a fresh start, and anything seems possible. We had a wonderful Christmas. It wasn’t without drama, but overall when I step back, I enjoyed it. It was great to be there for Jordan’s first Christmas too! He got more presents than anyone!
Here’s a slide show of pictures from the last year. Looking through them all made me realize how blessed I am and what wonderful people I have in my life, and I have a hunch that 2009 is going to be even better!
